INTRODUCING B CELL CITY — MULTIMEDIA WORK IN PROGRESS BASED ON CANCER

A work in progress, “B Cell City” is a multimedia electronic opera in real time, conceived by Antonio Lai da Teulada, a native of Sardinia, Italy.

Temple University Provost Hai-Lung Dai and Consult General Andrea Canepari, Consulate General of Italy, will greet attendees.

Antonio Lai da Teulada will introduce the team and the project. Dr. Antonio Giordano, Temple University professor in the College of Science and Technology and director of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine, will discuss the relevance and importance of the marriage of science and art and how, in this context, the artist’s role of global citizen is highlighted and the doctor/scientist becomes an artist. Maestro Valery Ryvkin, artistic director of Temple Opera, and soprano Darynn Zimmer, musical liaison for CAM Art Co., will discuss the collaboration with the internationally renowned sound team of Alvise Vidolin from Venice, Italy, and composer Luca Richelli, who are preparing the music.
